The LEGO Company was formed in 1934, when after the loss of his woodworking store in the Great Depression, it's founder Ole Kirk Christiansen shifted his profession into making toys for children. In the year 1947 Lego had their automatic binding bricks, earlier than that point they produced wooden toys like yo-yos and other small items. It took until 1953 for them to be developed into the little bricks that youngsters like to have today.
1966 was the year that the Lego system first came out. One set that's still well-liked as we speak as back then is the Train set that let you build different motor trains. Of course, one of the most well-liked LEGO themes to ever hit the market is Lego Star Wars. So in the year 1999 Star Wars was the first licensed product sets that Lego had ever done. Their first installment in this collection was the Lego X-wing Star fighter--the famous star fighter that Luke Skywalker defeated the Death Star in. Soon afterward, this was followed by a number of sets based on the original trilogy, and more recently based on the prequel trilogy. Lego additionally released an Ultimate Collector's Series, which was released in a limited quantity and includes items from both the original and the prequel trilogy, from the Millennium Falcon to General Grievous. There has also been video games released which are based on all six Star Wars motion pictures in Lego form.
So you can play with the Lego X-Wing and pretend you're in the movie as Luke for the Rebel Alliance battling the evil Vader and Empire. The X-Wing set has all the parts you need to construct both Red Three or Red Five Starfighter - that is Lukes or Wedges starfighter in the movies! It also includes mini-figures of the Alliance's biggest heroes--Wedge Antilles, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, R2-D2, and the mighty Chewbacca.
