Pokemon Platinum Gymleaders
Everyone who has been playing Pokemon must know about this fact, that every Pokemon trainer must battle a number of gymleaders, that number is eight. After that you get to face the League of Elite Trainer and then a Regional Champion, before you can be called the Pokemon Champion for that region.
Well listed below is a little information about the eight Gymleaders in the Nintendo DS game Pokemon Platinum. At the moment the Pokemon RPG game is only available in Japan but the English version will be out shortly.
Oreburgh Gym and Gymleader Roark
The Oreburgh Gym is in fact, unchanged from the ones in Diamond and Pearl version. So it’s still a simple gym after all (well, the first gyms are always the simplest ones).
Roark, the first gymleader to battle. He uses mainly Rock-type Pokemon.
Eterna Gym and Gymleader Gardenia
The Eterna Gym has a new puzzle to solve. In order to reach Gardenia, you have to battle each of the trainers in there. The Gym has been redesigned, it now contains four sections with a giant garden clock in the centre, dividing these areas. For each trainer you defeat, the hands of the clock move. Once the clocks hands turn to the north, south, east or west you can then walk onto the clock and progress to other areas of the gym. Gardenia awaits the player in the northern area of the gym.
Gardenia, the second gymleader. She uses Grass-type Pokemon in her battles and could be a little hard if for those who have Piplup as starter.
Hearthome Gym and Gymleader Fantina
With Pokemon Platinum the Hearthome Gym has become a little like the old Dewford Gym. It is very dark so you must get around the gym using a torch. Duskull lamps are used as visible walls, to guide you around. There are other trainers with torches that you need to battle in order to get to Fantina.
Fantina, the third gymleader, she was the fifth gymleader in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl!. She uses mainly Ghost-type Pokemon.

Veilstone Gym and Gymleader Maylene
Like Eterna and Hearthome, Veilstone Gym also get an upgrade. Instead of sliding through the gym, you now have to punch (literally) the sandbag in order to create a path to reach Maylene.
Maylene, the fourth gymleader. Despite her small and petite appearance, she packs quite a punch when it comes to fighting. As you see, she uses mainly Fighting-type Pokemon. After you defeat Maylene she will give you the Cobble Badge, Drain Punch, and the can use Fly outside of battles.
Pastoria Gym and Gymleader Crasher Wake
Pastoria Gym hasn't changed from Diamond and Pearl so you will be playing with the water levels once again in Pastoria Gym. The Pastoria Gym is a big indoor swimming pool made up of three levels and numerous floating platforms with switches built in the bottom that raises and lowers the water level. To get to the Wake you use the switches in a certain order soit makes a path in the the floating platforms.
Crasher Wake is the fifth gymleader uses Water-type Pokemon in his battles. He looks a bit like a WWE wrestler. You end up with the Fen Badge, Brine and are can use Defog outside of battle.
Canalave Gym and Gymleader Byron
Canalave Gym has been changed from Diamond and Pearl. It is a fairly easy gym to do. The Gym is a four-story tall building made up of steel platforms with lifts and metal platforms that move. You must take the elevators in the correct order to reach the fourth floor so you can get to Byron. Even though it is simple, it really uses the 3D engine of Nintendo DS pretty well.
When Byron battles he uses Steel-type Pokemon in his battles. Trainers who defeat him will receive the Mine Badge the Flash Cannon and can use Strength when not battling.
Snowpoint Gym and Gymleader Candice
The Snowpoint Gym is a Gym that is a three-floor ice rink and has slides that connect the different floors and there are snowballs blocking your progress through the Gym. To reach Candice the gym leader you have to slide all around the Gym and destroy the balls of snow blocking the way.
Candice is theseventh gym leader and uses mostly Ice-type Pokemon in her battles. When you defeat her you get an Icicle Badge, Avalanche and you are able to use Rock Climb outside of battle. I have to say the Abomasnow she use is pretty hard.
Sunyshore Gym an Gymleader Volkner
The Sunyshore Gym is a three room Gym where the main floor is made up of huge, gigantic gears hanging suspended from platforms that are operated by buttons. To get through you need to rotate the platforms in the right order to create a path. A little tricky.
Volkner is the eighth and last Gym Leader. He uses mostly Electric-type Pokemon and is a hard to beat Gym Leader. When you do beat him you get the Beacon Badge, Charge Beam and able to use Waterfall when you are outside of a battle. Watch out for the Pokemon Electivire.

Gardinia is easy no matter who you choose, just get a Staravia and level it up so that it is in the low 20's high teens

I got Platinum and im in the UK! its awesome! but man. even with my high level pokemon i cant get past gardenia all because i started with piplup
get your pokemon to level spots like 5 to10 10 to 16

Dudes u should start w/ a chimchar & catch a budew 4 the 1st gym.
Here's my guide to the gyms
1st: U should have a budew that is level 12+ & knows absorb if u started w/ chimchar-if not, your good
2nd: Staravia, or just use a monferno like me
3rd: I had a Floatzel that knew crunch, and it was cake
4th: That Lucario's tough, so you'll just have to stock up on potions-a ponyta would work too
5th: You'll need a luxray that is FAST. plus, my staraptor bailed me out with close combat. For that quagsire, a roselia works awesomely, but the floatzel knows Ice Fang (ouch)
6th: Byron is really weak to fighting types-machokes are awesome, so was my infernape. also, a decent groung type like graveler helps out.
7th: Once again, infernape owns. The abomasnow can hit you pretty hard though, but luckily my infernape was 4x resistant
8th: This is when a ground type really shines. However, some trainers do have magnemites, so gravelers aren't entirely in the clear
no i have allllll level sixties in platinum
i cant get past garndina.i have started with a piplup and it evolved into a prinplup.i know i gotta level these guys up,but i got a lv 30 prinplup,lv 10 buizule,a lv 10 shinx,and a level 14 meditite.plz give me some tips!

I started over and I've got a prinlup lvl 29 a Burmy lvl 19 A chatot lvl 19 a hoothoot lvl 18 a medidite lvl 20 and a starly level 15 and i STILL can't beat Gardenia! Any pointers?

hey i got a lv 99 palkia lv77 giritina lvlv 89 dialga level 100 torterra and another torterra 49 and a lv 100 arecus
I love pokemon platinum. I have wanted it so much since it came out in April ( I live in UK ) and I have some hints if you are stuck. I beat 1st Gymleader using my Prinplup (water) and a little help from my Luxio. I beat the 2nd Gymleader using my Ponyta, Staravia and my Prinplup to finish it off.
If you want to catch a Rotom then you need to have beaten the 2nd Gymleader and earned CUT. Then go to the scary house in Enterna City. Go in and go up the stairs and Through the door in the middle. Then go through the door to your left (not far left, but, 1 left) then go to the TV, give it a thump and then you can battle Rotom. But don't forget this bit, If you lose to it (lv. 20) then thats it you won't see it again. But if you make it faint then that is also it. If I were you, I would use a premire or great ball. Please note, that the house is just like a cave except you don't to use the out of battle moves. But, the only pokemon you will come across is a Ghastly pops up anywhere and the Rotom. Thank you!!!!!

Mack, your Machop needs 2 more levels to evolve into a Machoke, and if your Eevee is a girl,you can breed it at the Pokemon Day-Care Center in Solaceon Town.You can give Togetic a Shiny Stone to evolve it into a Togekiss, With Cynthia has after you beat the Elite 4. Prinplup evolves into Empoleon at level 36. Consider getting Ghost Pokemon that know Curse, Confuse Ray, and Night Shade.

Never let your Pokemon Die. I always save before a big battle, if they die, they wont like you. Which means they wont listen to you. Like if there confused, if they like you, then hopefully, they wont hit themselves.
Prolouge - Choose your starter. Any is fine.
Jublife City - Your pokemon should be level 8-10 by now. If not, go train it.
1st Gym - Your Starter should be level 14-20. My Turtwig evolved before the first gym, at level 18. I didn't get any more pokemon, you'll see why. Cause I'm grass, and the pokemon at the start isn't that good.
2nd Gym - If you have Chimchar, peace of cake. If you have Pipulp, it should be above level 15, so it can use Peck, because It's flying type. If you have a turtwig, beat it with bite, or get a Ponyta like me.
3rd Gym - Chimchar should do fine, wont be easy though, same with all starters. Except Grotle can use Bite. :]
4th Gym - This one should be easy, Except for Piplup. I don't know much about this one. It's to easy.
5th Gym - Thunder should beat this.
6th Gym - Chimchar would own this one. If you have a Turtwig or Piplup, you should have a fire type to beat the steel by now. And you can already beat the ground and rock.

Rapidash: FlareBlitz, Fireblast, Stomp, TakeDown.
Magnazone: ZapCannon, Discharge, Mirror Coat, Gyro Ball.
Wailord: Hydro Pump, Water Spout, Brine, Surf.
FrossLass: Blizzard, Destiny Bond, Ice Beam, Icy wind.
Drapion: Cross Poison, EarthQuake, HyperBeam, Crunch.
I usually don't use legendarys because It's wayy cheap.

Good stuff - its a sign of the times that many kids today couldn't name the capital cities of half a dozen countries but they could tell you the names of every one of those pokemon characters!
